• All aspects of daily and weekly maintenance of Biochrom 30 including calibration, QC’s and troubleshooting.
• VLCFA preparation, extraction and analysis using Agilent Technologies GCMS (and previous method using GCFID)
• Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of Agilent Technologies GCMS
• Limited use of MIRA for urine creatinines, NEFAs and BOHBs, Lactates.

Proteins Section
• Performing routine and specialised analyses on blood and urine specimens as required.
• Maintenance, troubleshooting, operation and calibration of Sebia Capillarys and Hydrasys, Seimans BN ProSpec Nepholometer, Primus Ultra2 HbA1c Analyser, Integra 400, Waters UPLC TQD Tandem Mass Spectrometer , Abbott TDX, Advanced Instruments Osmometer.
• Manual tests performed include – Sirolimus, Cyclosporin and Tacrolimus with Mass Spec; Protein Electrophoresis – screening and fixing with Sebia Hydrasys.
• Maintaining quality control of assays performed within the section.
• Authorising, interpretation and phoning (where abnormal) of biochemistry results with referral to a Clinical Scientist.
